Pagan in Recovery prayer

You who are knowable only within,
grant us the sensitivity to hear the truth that others speak,
the wisdom to understand that despite our differences, we are all the same,
and the courage to apply what we learn from others, in our own lives.

Secretary's report
Welcome to this meeting of The Pagan in Recovery
For those of you new to this meeting, you'll find that it's different than most recovery meetings.
The Pagan in Recovery isn't about any particular addiction or compulsive behavior, but about what we all have in common.
Because of that, we ask that speakers bear in mind that some topics may be triggering to some listeners. For that reason,
we ask that speakers refrain from any details of violence, sexual activity, purging behavior and other possible triggers.

Coffee and snacks are available in the kitchen. Please feel welcome to bring coffee or snacks to the meeting.

Let's go around the room and introduce ourselves.

Today's meeting is a speaker / discussion meeting. The speaker will share for 20 minutes or so, and then we'll
open it up for discussion.

A sponsor is a person who has found their way out of the darkness. Just as a wilderness guide is able to take
others to places they have been, a sponsor is willing to share their journey of recovery with others.
This meeting has those who are willing to sponsor others.
If you're willing to sponsor another through The Pagan in Recovery, please raise your hand and identify yourself.

Introduce the speaker.

Speaker

Share your story for approximately 20 minutes.
We speak of what things were like, how we found the ability to change, what happened, and what it's like now.
Our goal is to offer what we have to those who are where we have been.

When done, open the meeting up for discussion.

5 minutes before the end of the meeting, ask if there are any burning desires.

Closing:

Announce that there is a jar for donations. Donations help pay the rent, provide coffee and so forth.

Closing prayer:

You who are knowable only within,
help us to take what we've heard today, and learn from it.
Let us remember that we are all one family,
and that which helps another, ultimately, helps us as well.
